The Purpose of the 101 Association is to provide an organization for devotees of the Indian 101 Scout Motorcycle - for the use, preservation and history of this famous motorcycle - to provide a repository for the safe keeping of motorcycles, literature, parts and other related items in such a manner as to assure the availability of same for study and observation - and to provide a medium of exchange for information relating to said antiquities.
Membership is open to anyone with a keen interest in the Indian Scout. Our main focus has always been the Indian 101 Scout 37 and 45 cu. in. built between 1928-1931 but we are finding more and more members interested in Scouts in General.
We have over 400 members in over 20 countries. Membership is not limited to 101 ownership and we DO cover many facets of the early Scouts, although you will find us MUCH more interesting if you have a keen interest in 101s.
We put out a quarterly newsletter, the WOW, which includes club news, pictures, and technical information.
We also publish an Repair & Overhaul Manual, which we include updates to with the newsletter each quarter.
Each year we have an annual meet with judging and trophies held in conjunction with an AMCA meet. In 1999 it was held in Hebron, CT. at the Yankee Chapter meet.
We have a very active Internet presence – we have a web page (obviously) and a members-only discussion list. We soon will have many pass-worded areas for members-only on our web page.
Dues are currently $25.00 per year in the US, more to cover postage to foreign countries.. You may join only for the current year and/or any previous year(s).. If you join for previous years we will send you all the materials sent out for that year..
Let me know if I can be of any assistance or give you any other information.
Sincerely,
Joan Kirdulis, Membership Chairman
Officers for 2008
